Project Introduction

O⬝PARK2 is scheduled to commence operation by 2024, and is designed to convert 300 tonnes of organic waste per day. Using anaerobic digestion technology, O⬝PARK2 can convert food waste into biogas, and then turn it into electricity. Apart from supplying heat and electricity for the facility, it can export about 24 million kWh of electricity to the grid per year, which is equivalent to the power consumption by some 5,000 households. Upon commissioning, O⬝PARK2 is expected to lessen the use of fossil fuels for electricity generation, and reduce about 110,000 tonnes of food waste sent to landfills for disposal, that would prevent the emission of some 67,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas each year.
